  • Reception opening times are:
    Monday & Thursdays:
    9.30m - 3pm
    Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday & Saturdays:
    9am - 5pm
    Sunday & Bank holidays:
    9am - 1pm


  • Check in time is between 4pm - 5pm.
    Please note reception closes at 5pm, please let us know prior to that if you are planning on arriving after 5pm so that we can arrange for key collection.

    Early check inis available at an additional charge of £20.00 which brings check in to 2pm.

    Check out
    is 10am.

    Late check out may be available at an additional charge of £20.00 charge, which brings check out to 11.30am.

    Please contact us if you’d like to add early check in or late check out onto your booking!

  • Parking:
    There’s plenty of parking available in our car park, along with a convenient unloading area outside the cottages for bringing in your bags.

    Please use the space outside the cottages to unload your car, then move your vehicle to the main car park to allow large farm vehicles access to the neighbouring fields.

    We kindly ask guests not to drive or park on any grassed areas around the cottages.

    Thank you for helping us keep the grounds beautiful for everyone!

  • Yes, all cottages have Starlink high-speed WiFi, providing fast, reliable internet for streaming, communication, and everyday use.

    Lake Cottages is also ideal for remote working in Mid Wales, combining strong connectivity with a peaceful countryside setting.

    Mobile Reception
    Due to our rural location we don’t have mobile signal!

    Guests are welcome to use our Starlink Wi-Fi to make calls on their mobile phones using Wi-Fi calling or internet-based apps.

    A pay phone is also available at reception for emergencies, and the reception area remains unlocked at all times for this purpose.

  • Our swimming pool is an indoor heated pool which is heated to 30degrees.

    Which is open every day 9am – 7pm.

    No booking required!
    Guests are welcome to use anytime between 9am - 7pm during their stay.

    The pool is fitted with a cover that should be fully wound off before use and replaced afterwards.
    This helps retain heat and keeps the pool temperature pleasant for all guests to enjoy.

    It is very important that the cover is always put back on after each use, thank you!

    Please bring your own towels for the swimming pool!

  • Sauna:

    Open 9am - 7pm.

    The sauna is not kept on continuously.

    No booking required, If you would like to use it, please switch it on approximately 15 minutes beforehand to allow it time to heat up.

  • Tesco, Asda, Sainsbury’s & other main supermarkets deliver to our cottages.

    There is:
    Tesco (LD1 6BH)
    & Aldi (LD1 5BB) in Llandrindod Wells, approx a 20minute drive away from Lake Cottages at Cwm Chwefru.

    The closest shop is in Newbridge on Wye, approx a 10minute drive away.

  • All linen for the beds & sofa beds are provided.

    Spare bedding for the sofa bed:
    - It will be found in the cupboard of your cottage, already made up in sealed bedding bags.
    Which contain:
    - X4 pillows 
    - X1 double duvet
    - x1 flat sheet

    Towels are provided for the cottage but are not for the swimming pool, please do bring your own!

  • Guests can access the games room and swimming pool using the entry codes provided in your cottage on arrival.

    Both facilities are open daily from 9:00am to 7:00pm.

    A range of recreational equipment is also available for guest use, including tennis rackets and balls, as well as equipment for pitch & putt and other activities.

  • Gift Vouchers
    Gift vouchers are available to purchase from reception and can be made out for any amount.

    Vouchers can be used towards accommodation or to add something special to an existing stay.

    Popular gift options include a fire pit package, early check-in, late check-out, and other extras to make a stay even more memorable.

  • Unfortunately, we don’t accept pets at the cottages due to our rural location and surrounding farmland.

    We do have a neighbour who offers doggy care, located 1.5 miles away:
    Kibbles Doggy Day Care

    Please contact Fay at Kibbles if you’d like her to look after your pet while you enjoy a holiday with us!

  • Enjoy access to our peaceful fishing lake, where both coarse and fly fishing are available.

    The lake is stocked with brown trout and rudd, offering a relaxing experience for anglers of all levels.

    Please bring your own equipment along!

    Please note: barbed hooks are not permitted, and anyone aged 15 or over must hold a valid fishing licence.

  • £40 per session

    We have a small dining room / bistro & kitchen area with x6 tables, chairs & benches which will comfortably seat 15-25 people available to hire.

    Perfect if you are a big group or family who have booked several cottages & can be used for:

    • Group / family dining and meals together.

    • Breakfast gatherings and celebrations.

    • Private dinners or catered evenings.

    • Workshops and group sessions.

    • Arts and crafts activities.

    • Painting or pottery painting classes.

    • Flower arranging workshops

  • Unfortunately we don’t have an electric car charging point.

    The closest locations are:
    Builth Wells or Llandrindod Wells

  • Yes, we can provide a travel cot, mattress topper, protector & sheet.

    Highchairs are also available on request.

    For younger guests, we also have plastic plates, bowls, cups, and cutlery already in the cottage.

    Please contact us to add a travel cot or highchair onto your booking.

    The dining space is available for £40 per session and seats 15–25 guests.

  • We kindly ask all guests to make use of the recycling facilities during their stay.

    All bins & recycling bins are located in the car park and are clearly labelled for ease:

    Red lids - Plastic items
    Blue lids - Paper
    Green lids - Glass
    Brown lids - Food waste

    Any remaining non-recyclable items can be placed in black bin bags in the general waste bins.

    Thank you for doing your part to recycle during your stay!

  • Bookings can be made:

    • Online via our booking system

    • Over the phone using a card payment

    • By BACS bank transfer

    • Via a secure payment link

    Payment terms:

    • A £100 non-refundable deposit is required at the time of booking.

    • The remaining balance will be automatically taken from the same card used, 30 days prior to arrival.
